  • Our membership prices are broken down into Tiers depending on the size of the organisation (employee count). We offer an Ambassador membership for charities and businesses with an annual revenue <£50,000. We aim to make BBN as accessible as possible, and our wonderful larger members help us to subsidise the costs for smaller purpose-driven organisations.

  • Once you join as a BBN Member, you’ll have access to a Members Area that has all the free resources and workshop recordings we’ve created, along with useful links to external resources, details of offers and campaigns you should join.

  • You get out of the network what you put in.

    We’re proud to say that many of our members have gone on to do incredible work together, but it’s very important to contribute to the conversation, support and help your fellow members. 

    84% said they had worked with, collaborated with or done business with other members of the Better Business Network since joining 

    We hold both online and regional networking events monthly which are an excellent way to grow your connections, and our monthly roundup of new members aims to be a helpful starting point.

    Some of our courses are run in live online cohorts, and so do require some level of time commitment, but we try and encourage our members to engage in continuous learning on issues of social and environmental impact. We avoid shortcuts!

    If you are worried about not having enough time to contribute or engage fully, please remember that you can add members of your team to the Better Business Network under your membership, who can also access all the resources we provide.

  • If you join the network and feel that it is not the right fit for you and your business, you can request a full refund up to 30 days from joining, no questions asked.

  • It started as a private accountability group in 2020, then it officially launched in April 2021 accepting small cohorts of businesses.

    We started promoting the network to the wider business community and opened our doors in June 2022. 

    We have grown and developed a lot since then, and we moved onto our brand new platform in November 2024 to continue to improve our incredible community!

    Joining as a member allows you to take part, support and amplify our campaigns as part of a more powerful collective. Together as a network, we are working to create change and positively impact the wider business community.

    In our 2023 Membership Survey, 91.6% of Members had gained industry value from being in BBN. 84% said they had worked with, collaborated with or done business with other members of the Network since joining and a further 79.2% said they have their increased positive social and environmental impact since joining BBN.

    Since May 2023, we’ve had 4,259 people (at the time of writing) sign up for our events or complete our training, and we signpost towards organisations doing incredible things! 

    Since joining BBN:

    • 25% of members have become B Corps

    • 66.6% have become Carbon Literate

    • 16% have become Living Wage Employers

    • 8% have signed up to B1G1

    • 12.5% have become Disability Confident

    • 16.6% have become members of Business Declares

    • 41.6% have supported the Better Business Act

    • 21% have become members of 1% for the Planet

    ...and that’s only counting those who filled in our survey (and those who only achieved those accreditations since joining!)

    We also became the third company in the UK (4th in the World) to officially add Nature to our Board of Directors in early 2024! This new concept creates a new role within the company which is specifically designed to represent nature and the wider natural world.

    As part of our new Nature on the Board commitments, we’ve officially announced our Vision for Nature as the below:

    “Act consciously in the way we work and impact nature, whilst reflecting our interconnection within nature and supporting other businesses to do the same.”

    Throughout 2025 we will be working to implement this Vision for BBN Members with events and experiences that inspire and educate members to take action. 

    Specifically, we will be encouraging them to consider forms of nature based governance, to work to understand the material impacts they are having on the natural environment and biodiversity risks upon the business, and to deepen their personal interconnection with nature. 

  • We’ve priced the membership fees at a cost that is accessible for small business owners. Larger companies pay a higher fee in order to help subsidise this access.

    Scholarships are available to non-profit organisations and businesses with a turnover of less than £50,000 - they can apply for our Ambassador membership tier.

  • No, we accept organisations from anywhere on their journey. It matters less where you are, and more where you want to go. 

    It’s important to be an ethical business with a real desire and drive for change and positive impact. 

    All our members have the same vision, to create regenerative businesses that have a positive impact with the work they do.

    We work hard to ensure BBN is authentic. We reserve the right to remove your membership if you don’t align with the values of BBN.

  • We understand Business Owners are busy, so perhaps you may want one of your team to be the active member in the community for you, that’s fine!

    We ask that the lead member for every application is the Business Owner or a member of the Leadership team. 

    You can add as many extra members of your team to the network at no additional cost.

    We welcome businesses, social enterprises, CIC’s, charities, and all other types of organisation!
