1% For The Planet

What is 1% For The Planet?

1% For The Planet is an international organisation whose members contribute at least one percent of their annual sales to environmental causes, with the aim of putting people and the planet over profit; tackling our planet's most pressing environmental issues.

It was started by Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews, founder of Blue Ribbon Flies in 2002. Since then 1% For The Planet has given over $672,000,000 to 4872 environmental partners across over 100 countries.

What Actions Do We Take To Support 1% For The Planet?

The BBN and it’s sister organisation, betternotstop, have been members of 1% For The Planet since we began. We donate 1% of our revenue each year to good causes.

We invite 1% For The Planet non-profits to our all of our Catalyst Conversations to act as Nature representatives. This ensures that we are always considering the thoughts of Nature in our discussions.

1% For The Planet non-profits also get invited to our annual Better Business Summit and our regional events to continue to grow the engagement within our business community.

We want as many businesses to engage with 1% For The Planet and have the goal of raising over 100k to support 1% for the Planet as a Network.

Some of the amazing organisations we’ve supported include:

The Soil Association

Rewilding Britain
