As we look back on PurposeFest hosted at the stunning Belmont Estate near Bristol, we are filled with gratitude and inspiration.

Highlights and Takeaways

Catalyst Conversations

Our Catalyst Conversation allowed participants to reconnect with nature in the beautiful green spaces of Belmont Estate. The session, led by one of our board directors, Graham Hansen, explored various forms of nature-based governance, sparking insightful discussions on integrating nature into our decision-making processes. As one of the few companies worldwide to legally put Nature on the Board, we are passionate about helping other businesses do the same.

Nature as a Stakeholder

A core theme of the day was embedding Nature as a Stakeholder. This concept resonated deeply with attendees, as reflected in their enthusiastic feedback. The discussions on natural capital and the importance of considering the voiceless world in our business operations were particularly impactful - These conversations reinforced the idea that when we mirror natural systems, our businesses become more resilient and powerful!

Engaging Activities

The event also featured a qigong session led by Alexandra, which many found transformative. This activity not only provided relaxation but also clarity of mind and physical relief, demonstrating the profound benefits of integrating holistic practices into our daily routines.

Networking and Community Building

PurposeFest provided ample opportunities for networking, allowing participants to connect with like-minded individuals who are also committed to shaping a better future. The beautiful surroundings of Belmont Estate offered the perfect backdrop for these meaningful interactions, creating an atmosphere of serenity and inspiration.

Attendee Reflections

Attendees included Chloe Handelman from Chloe Handelman Operations Consulting who mentioned, "The Better Business Network hosted an incredible session on where we considered questions like 'What season is your business in?' and 'What are the roots (foundations) of your business?' Reminding us that when we mirror natural systems, our businesses are more resilient and powerful."

Jon Gibbons from As It Should Be also shared, "Many moments of learning, serendipity, and serenity for me at PurposeFest yesterday. The workshop on nature-inspired business practices was particularly thought-provoking."

Looking Ahead

As we move forward, we are energised by the connections made and the ideas shared at PurposeFest. The event underscored the importance of integrating nature into our business strategies and reminded us of the powerful impact we can have when we work together as a community. We are excited to continue this journey with our fellow purpose-driven businesses and look forward to the next steps in our collective efforts to drive positive change.
