What is Deaf Awareness Training?

Deaf Awareness Training will be carried out by the accredited Training Providers at the Royal Association for Deaf People (RAD).  The training course is specifically designed to improve your awareness, communication skills and confidence, enabling you to help break down the barriers faced daily by people who are deaf or have a hearing loss. Read about the prevalence of deafness and hearing loss here.

The training will cover

  • Introduction to deafness
  • Deaf Community
  • Language
  • Raising awareness
  • Communication skills
  • Best practice

The session lasts for three hours, and all attendees will be given a certificate of attendence. It costs £70 (+VAT)

Creating a world without barriers is something we all want. Becoming deaf aware is bigger than just improving service, it builds your brand and places you at the forefront of inclusivity.

It’s crucially important, as the training will help you and your staff be able to

  • understand the barriers faced by deaf people and people with hearing loss or tinnitus
  • feel confident communicating with deaf people and people with hearing loss or tinnitus
  • work more effectively with deaf colleagues and colleagues with hearing loss or tinnitus.

Research shows that more than 70% of people who use hearing aids would choose a company with staff who are deaf aware over a company whose staff are not. Sign on today!

The sessions in London will be held at X+Why People’s Mission Hall 20-30 Whitechapel, E1 1EW
