What is Diversity? What is Inclusion? How do I make sure that I’m approaching my EDI efforts in the right way? 

In this informative and thought provoking Lunch & Learn session, Azeem Ahmad (former Trustee – Show Racism the Red Card and Independent Inclusion Advisor to Newcastle United) will encourage you to reframe and redefine how you approach diversity. 

Azeem will discuss a broad range of topics, explaining how to move beyond simply being compliant with legislation  and towards a truly just, inclusive world. 

He will explain the importance of intersectionality and how you can support all forms of marginalised groups both individually and as an organisation, before giving examples of organisations that got it right and those that got it wrong.

In this session we’ll learn the traps to avoid. More importantly, we’ll be left with steps we can easily implement to make sure that our EDI efforts at the very least, do no harm. 

Who is Azeem Ahmad?

Azeem is an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion expert. He was a long time Trustee at Show Racism the Red Card and an Independent Inclusion Advisor to Newcastle United, and currently works as the Head of Enterprise Operations at Tales to Inspire, specialising in EDI consultancy work.
