Greenwashing Industry Report 2024 : What next?
It’s been a fortnight since the release of our first Industry Report on Greenwashing, which has already been downloaded by businesses around the UK to discover what they can do to improve their comms strategies.
We asked the question ‘What Can We Do To Challenge Greenwashing?” and you can download the report to read in full here
Initial feedback has been that the report has been ‘really insightful’ helping them to delve “into this tricky area for business to navigate, as well as obtaining insightful and open feedback from different businesses and stakeholders!”
Others commented that “it is jam-packed with valuable stats and thought-provoking insights such as the ability (or not) of standards to prevent greenwashing, the impact of toxic workplace culture on greenwashing, and the prevalence of green hushing”
The report, which was based around the BBN’s ‘Catalyst Conversations’ brings together publicly sourced available data as well as industry experts to provide a cross-section perspective on the state of greenwashing and its impact on businesses and consumers.
Malin Cunningham, Founder & Managing Director of Hattrick, was invited along as a Catalyst Conversation participant. She notes that “Greenwashing is a real concern for many organisations, and this report gives businesses key insights as well as practical advice. It will help them navigate this complex area with more confidence.”
As more and more businesses engage with this challenging topic, we hope to see businesses beginning to take tangible steps to take in order to tackle greenwashing, be this from an internal perspective or dealing with external miscommunication.
To quote one reader “If you’re a business committed to a more sustainable and ethical business landscape, this report is a must-read.”
