Patagonia and 1% For the Planet join Manchester’s Better Business Summit
We’re excited to announce more new speakers for the Better Business Summit on January 19th 2023, including Patagonia and 1% For the Planet They join our amazing line up of the first wave of speakers to take the stage.
You might be thinking – “Why Patagonia?”
Aligning with a brand that rejects fast fashion and focuses on creating high-quality long lasting products is suited perfectly to The Better Business Summit. We want to be the go to event for businesses leaders in North West who want to make a positive change.Patagonia has a self-imposed Earth tax, which provides support to environmental nonprofits working to defend our air, land and water around the globe. Last September they announced that they would give away all profits into saving the planet, via a unique trust and non-profit.
They’ve committed to stating the Earth is now their only shareholder. Patagonia’s founder Yvon Choinard is also the co-founder for 1% for the Planet and we are a proud member at The Better Business Network. 1% for the Planet is an international organisation whose members contribute at least one percent of their annual revenue to environmental causes – the aim is to offer accountability and prevent greenwashing. Representing them is Madelyn Postman of the UK Steering Committee.
Patagonia is joining our already impressive names of business and speakers like BBC Presenter Ngunan Adamu, Royal Society for Arts’ North England Manager Patrick Hurley, B Lab UK Partnership and Products Manager Kyle Soo and The Co-founder of Carbon Literacy Phil Korbel and many more on our event program. Join hundreds of change-makers and get the opportunity to discuss new ideas, connect and create new relationships that will allow everyone to create better businesses.
