2023 CARBON LITERACY TRAINING
Two Day Virtual Workshop – Upcoming Dates:
Thursday 23rd Nov 10:00 – 14:00 and Friday 24th Nov 10:00 – 14:00 GMT
What is Carbon Literacy Training?
Join us for a two ‘half’ day sessions to complete our accredited Carbon Literacy training course. It is designed for those who want to make a positive change and take action on climate change through their job role. This course is aimed specifically at those in the professional services industries, and will take you from the basics of climate science, and what is happening with the climate emergency; through to how this will impact everyone, enabling you to pledge relevant carbon reducing actions in your life, work & industry.
It is a perfect introductory session to climate science that we always recommend people to take so they can feel empowered to start to take action.
On successful completion of your Carbon Literacy training, after submitting your actions, you can become certified as āCarbon Literateā, joining more than 40,000 others, and including business leaders across multiple sectors. By taking part in this course, you will join employees from staff across other businesses including the NHS, Patagonia, BBC and ITV in training their staff to become āCarbon Literateā, helping to embed a widespread low-carbon culture.
After completing the course, youāll be required to complete a Participant Evidence form which will then be sent to the Carbon Literacy Project for approval. Once the form has been approved you will receive your certificate.
We run these workshops bi-monthly and always as two half-day workshops on Thursdays and Fridays for ease and consistency.
If you are a Better Business Network member, we will facilitate all the training completely free of charge (for up to 5 employees) as a benefit of Membership. However, if you are doing your Carbon Literacy training and want to become certified Carbon Literate, you will need to pay a certification fee.
How does this work?
If you want to be certified, you need to pay a certification fee.Ā This fee costs Ā£10 and is paid to the Carbon Literacy Project, who then review and authorize any certifications.
This is done through the completion of an evidence form which you will need to fill out on completion of the course which is reviewed and marked.Ā This process takes on average 21 ā 28 working days and completion of the course does not guarantee a pass.
For non-members who pay a fee to join our Carbon Literacy training sessions, this fee is deducted from the overall cost of taking part in the training and so you donāt have to purchase this again.Ā
